Mission Mexico

i.lab is proud to support Mission Mexico Tapachula Children's Refuge in its quest to secure stable premises to provide refuge and hope to 35 orphaned, abused and abandoned children in Tapachula, Mexico. Currently operating out of a run down government owned building, the Refuge aims to raise sufficient funds to purchase premises that will provide a stable refuge for these very special children.

During the course of 2007, i.lab will conduct a number of fundraising activities aimed at raising much-needed capital for the Refuge. We hope you will support these activities and encourage you to donate to this worthy cause between times. Wouldn't it be wonderful if between us we could help build a Children's Refuge and make a material difference to the lives of dozens of children!

Mission Mexico was brought to our attention by Moket chief executive officer Dale Rankine and his wife Tanya who have generously found ways to personally support this cause. Their attention was captured after hearing the story of Alan and Pamela Skuse for whom the Refuge became a life's work after they commenced a ‘temporary' bout of voluntary work in 2000. With the Refuge likely to close down within a few months of their engagement they sold their Queensland home and donated the proceeds and their time to keeping the Refuge afloat.

A professional musician, Tanya has recorded a collection of exquisite compositions with all proceeds from the sale of her CD to benefit the Refuge. Copies of her CD are available from the i.lab reception or at www.tanyagordon.com – buy a copy now to add to your CD collection!
